27 Million Hectares and Counting: The Story of the Bark Beetle That Ate the West

Chris Fettig serves as Research Entomologist and Leader of the Invasives and Threats Team at the Pacific Southwest Research Station, USDA Forest Service in Davis, California.  Dr. Fettig received his Ph.D. from The University of Georgia in forest entomology where he studied the effects of intensive forest management practices on forest insects.  Today, his personal research program focuses on forest health and disturbance ecology with an emphasis on bark beetles, fire and climate change.  Dr. Fettig currently serves of the editorial boards of Forest Science and Forest Ecology and Management.
