Richard Higgins, author of Thoreau and the Language of Trees

Rev. Richard Higgins is a writer and editor in Concord, Massachusetts. He is the author of Thoreau and the Language of Trees, published in April by the University of California Press. A former longtime staff writer for The Boston Globe, he is the coauthor of Portfolio Life and the editor of a volume on religion in public life for Harvard University Press. His writing has appeared in the New York Times, Atlantic Monthly, Christian Century, Esquire, and Smithsonian and many other publications. Higgins is a graduate of Holy Cross College, Columbia Journalism School, and Harvard Divinity School.
